ABOUT
     EASTLAKE CATHEDRAL

Eastlake Church of God in Christ was founded in April 1987 by W.J. and Jean Matheney. Initially located at 535 East Lake Street in Tarpon Springs, Florida, the church was named Eastlake by Mother Matheney to assist people in finding its location.

In 1995, the Church relocated to that what it thought would be a temporary location at 120 East Lemon Street in Tarpon Springs. For several years, the church looked for a new sanctuary; one that would be more reflective of the Lord's majesty and allow the Church to expand its outreach. On January 3, 2010, the Lord blessed the Church to move its new location at 4820 Floramar Terrace, New Port Richey, Florida, a sanctuary with a seating capacity of approximately 1,000.

Eastlake is a Pentecostal Church, affiliated with Church of God in Christ with National Headquarters in Memphis, Tennessee . We are governed nationally by a General Board of Bishops, with Presiding Prelate Charles E. Blake. Our State Jurisdictional Prelate is Bishop W.J. Matheney and our State Supervisor of Women is Ruby D. Williams.
